Loren Golden Served as Delegate to American Bar Association Conference

Attorney Loren S. Golden of Golden Law Office recently attended the American Bar Association Conference held February 14-20, 2001 in San Diego, California. Golden served as a member of the House of Delegates in his capacity as second vice president of the Illinois State Bar Association.

In her keynote address to the audience, the American Bar Association president, Martha Barnett of Tallahassee, Florida, stressed the importance of providing pro bono legal representation to children who are in the process of immigration and naturalization.

According to Golden, "Illinois attorneys are encouraged to supply volunteer time as part of their practice. Many attorneys throughout the State and in the Fox Valley are generous in devoting time to assist clients in need." Golden and Jason King, an associate in his firm, provide pro bono work through Prairie State Legal Services for women in need who are in the process of divorce.

The American Bar Association is the largest voluntary professional membership association in the world. With more than 400,000 members, the ABA provides law school accreditation, continuing legal education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges in their work, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public.

Golden has served seven years on the ISBA Board of Governors and chairs the Special Committee on Professional Fulfillment. He was elected to the Board of Governors in 1993, served as ISBA treasurer in 1994-95 and secretary in 1997-98 and has been a member of the Tort Law Section Council and Committee on Media Law. He continues to succeed through the various ISBA executive officer positions and will move to 1st vice president in June 2001, and ISBA president in 2002-03.

For the past nineteen years, Golden has practiced law in the Elgin and West Dundee areas. He concentrates in personal injury and medical malpractice. Attorney Joins Golden Law Offices

Attorney Loren S. Golden of Golden Law Offices in Elgin announces that Jason D. King has joined the practice as Associate to the firm.

King received his Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University, College of Law, in May, 1999; and a B.S. Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts in 1996. In addition, he attended Saint Francis University in Joliet, Illinois. His experience includes civil defense litigation, arbitration and trial, emphasis in casualty, subrogation, and medical malpractice. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

An experienced baseball player, King, a resident of Aurora, was an outfielder for the Dubois County Dragons, a professional baseball organization in Huntington, Indiana, from 1996-1998. He was All-star and Team Captain for the team, which was voted second most entertaining sporting event in Indiana. As league and team leader in many hitting categories, King worked children's summer camps, spoke at grade schools, and visited the elderly and persons at home in the community. At Saint Francis University, he was a member of the N.A.I.A. Baseball World Series Chamption, 1993. While at Northern Illinois University, he was the 1996 Baseball Conference Champion outfielder and team captain, 1996 Mid American Conference Tournament MVP, and All-Tournament team, COSIDA Academic All Area.
